Officer Fil Cuesta Memorial Hat

Officer Cuesta was assigned to the Southwest Gang Enforcement Detail.  On the evening of August 8, 1998, he was ambushed by a gang member who opened fire on he and his partner as the awaited additional units to respond to their location.  Officer Cuesta succumbed to his injuries the following day. He was 26 years old and served four years with the LAPD.  He is survived by his wife and two small daughters.
